Het Amsterdamse Photanol bouwt samen met AkzoNobel een demonstratiefabriek in Delfzijl. In de fabriek worden gemodificeerde blauwalgen ingezet om chemische bouwstenen uit CO2 en zonlicht te produceren. De demonstratiefabriek is een volgende stap om de productie van organische zuren op te schalen.
